Fishboy Release Day! by Cory Basil

FishboyCover.jpg

Today, 1 October 2013, The Perils of Fishboy: A Tale Split in Two is finally available to you! I am told that today is the LAST day for you to be entered in the drawing to win an original illustration of mine from the book. So if you've yet to purchase, head on over to fogink's website before midnight PST and get your order in.

Follow this link to order!

Below is the third teaser trailer for the book. When I was a child I was fascinated by the maps included in the front of books, I'd study them for what seemed like hours and would let my imagination take me inside to live for a while. That being said, it was a must that I create a map detailing this wonderful world under the ocean.

Enjoy, and thank you for your continued support of my art! cB

Outlaw Poet Revue :: Success by Cory Basil

OPR.jpg

Our very first Outlaw Poet Revue went off with a bang -- like dynamite bursting a hole through a rocky mountain to make way for the coming steam engine. I had a wonderful time sharing my new work as well as reading from December 2012's release, Skinny Dipping in Daylight. Jimmy A provided a perfect bridge between poet and listener with his methodical melodies and ambient aliens. And Kevin Max kept to his wits birthing verse after verse like the bearded John the Baptist -- sans locust. Last night was truly a moment to be locked in the time capsule. I want to take this sentence to thank our great friends over at Frothy Monkey for granting us residency for our poetic soiree, and a special thank you to all of you who came out and made it such a great night. We are looking forward to including other weary poets as this thing takes flight. Keep a weathered eye for the second Outlaw Poet Revue headed your way before the year is up.

Grateful, cB

Creating the Art: Of Burdens, Birds and Stars by Cory Basil

Below is a short film I put together giving you a healthy glimpse at how I work behind the scenes with brush and paint -- this piece was created using watercolour and ink.My good friend Stu G, of the band Delirious?, handed me the honor of crafting the concept for his upcoming release on vinyl. After that it was left to my imagination to birth it into existence. Be sure to stop by Stu's website to pre-order the album digitally through the pledge music campaign.

Enjoy, cB
