Hello again. Two blog posts in one week? I'd better slow down. I am here to let you know about the coming weekend's events. It may be a little late to be telling some who have already planned out their Saturday evening, but I blame my tardiness on the fact that I've yet to train a monkey or buy a robot to handle my social media updating full time. If you have a well-trained monkey with a little hat or a polite robot that you wish to sell please contact me, if the price is right I may be interested. Sorry about that detour, I’m only two sips into my coffee this morning. Back to this weekend ... The Tennessee Art League was so pleased with the success of last month's show opening, and the sales thereafter, that they have requested I leave my work with them for one more month. I happily agreed. This happened because of you, and I am ever grateful for your support of the work I create. Saturday we will reopen the show from 6 to 9 PM – the good people of Barnes & Noble will be on hand again selling copies of The Perils of Fishboy (which I will happily sign and sketch in for you), the Tennessee Art League will have chewable things and wine, and I will be trying to find a place to stand where I'm not in the way. Several pieces that were on display have sold new art is taking it's place. There will be over 10 brand new pieces available, and they’re worth coming out to see!
Now on to the second event, there is an upcoming area of town known as the Wedgewood-Houston section. This area houses a handful of art studios and galleries and is a thriving area. I was asked to lend my art to their crawl this weekend and I happily agreed to be a part. However most of my current work was already committed to be at the Tennessee Art League. So like any insane person, I said yes and then had to make all new art in one weeks time – piling on to my already Mount Kilimanjaro sized to-do list.
Therefore, at the Houston-Wedgewood art crawl I ‘ll be exhibiting an all new series called H.E.R.B. He' a friend of mine, and a robot. You can see H.E.R.B. in 11 fun situations and even buy him off the wall. I'm working on having Limited Edition prints of him on hand. This event is called Arts & Music at Wedgewood/Houston and will run from 5:30 to 9 PM. The location: Harvest Hands 424 Humphrey Street. A representative from Fogink Publishing will be at this event selling signed copies of The Perils of Fishboy and Skinny Dipping in Daylight. It's rumored that they will have pre-release copies of The Shovel & The Hare on hand, but this rumor has not been confirmed.
Since I've yet to figure out how to be in two places at once I will most likely remain at the Tennessee Art League from 6 - 8 PM then scurry over to Wedgewood/Houston from 8-ish to 9 PM. That's all for now, thank you again for spreading the word about the work I do. Look forward to meeting you out on the streets!
Yay art,
cB
